オープニング～即興スピーチセッション
みなとみらいトーストマスターズクラブの第306回例会が中区民活動支援センターで行われました。会場は満杯で25名の参加、例会としては今年最初です。306th regular meeting was held at Naka-Kumin Katsudo Shien Center. 25members joined at that first regular meeting of this year.
オープニングでは、会長のFjさんから年初に訪れたシンガポールのお話！船の形の素敵なホテルに宿泊して楽しまれたこの街、シンガポールは楽しみも便利さも全て揃った完璧な街とのこと。でも何と昨年の統計で世界一揃った街1位は、東京だそう！今年オリンピックイヤーには多くの世界の人たちをもてなしたいものです。意外な話も聞け、楽しんだオープニングトークでした。
At the opening, President Fj talked about visiting Singapore recently. She told that Singapore is the complete city for entertainment, convenience and safety. But also she told Tokyo was ranked the first city in world statistics in 2019. We enjoyed so much her happy and surprising talk.
司会のTrさんのテーマは、新年らしく「今年の抱負」です。前に出たメンバーがそれぞれの抱負を述べ、「今年は〇〇を頑張る！」とか「〇〇をマスターする！」といった力強い決意の中、「今年こそ〇〇を買いたい！」といった希望を述べる人もいて、皆さんの笑いを誘いました。
Toastmaster of the day, Tr set the meeting theme, “Progress: New Year’s Resolution, which is a very seasonal topic. Many members at the lectern expressed powerfully their resolution such as; “, I will do my best for training.” “ I want to try to play this song on the piano.” and so on.
Gtさんによる即興スピーチセッションも楽しい話が続きます。今年初めてに基づき、初めての体験、初めて出会った人(初恋の人)など。これは当たって話す側もドキドキで、スピーチを聞く側もワクワクするトピックでした。Gtさん、素敵なトピック提供でした。ベストスピーカーはknさんの幼稚園の時の可愛い出会いのお話。
At the table speech session conducted by Gt. The topic was first something such as
“first experience”, “ first encounter” and so on. Both speaking side and listening side were so excited. How nice topic Gt offered! Best speaker is Kn.
1番目はBgさん、ユーモラスなタイトルのイメージと違って、自分の心の内面を反省する深い話でした。声のトーンを巧みに変え、ステージの端から端まで歩きながら聴衆を巻き込むスタイルはさすがです！ベストスピーカー賞おめでとうございます！
1st speaker Bg told her story to reflect on her inner self. Her vocal variety, her movement used from end to end the stage, and inspiring her audience are excellent. She became the best prepared speaker. Congratulations!
2番目はNoさん、先日の合同ミーティングでパーティーの係りを担当され大奮闘したお話。つい最近のクラブでの行事を語られたスピーチはまさに実感がこもっていました。パーティー幹事のお役目お疲れ様でした！
2nd speaker No told the struggle and gain as a party secretary. He just talked about recent event lively.
4番目の英語スピーカーはSbさんです。今回は特にクラブの新人に向けて、プログラムをどのように進めていけば良いかを映像を使ってわかりやすく説明されました。始めたばかりのメンバーにはどれだけ助けになることでしょう。
4th speaker is Sg. He explained especially for the joiners how you have the program of Toastmasters using the projector. He often asked the audience some questions during the speech engaging audience effectively. This speech will definitely helpful for the joiners.
4番目の英語論評者はKtさん、今期VPEしても大活躍、やはり英語スピーカーの良いところの例を挙げて、論評していました。
4th evaluator is Kr. She is very active as VPE this term. She also commented about the good points of his speech.
今回の例会報告はGE(総合論評者)のSbが担当しました。トーストマスターズは2017年秋から始めて、4年目。例会では、司会、英語スピーカー、論評者の他毎回いろいろな役割が与えられますが、今回で全ての役割を経験しました。まだまだ一人前ではありませんが、毎回多くのメンバーからのフィードバックに助けられています。
This report was written by Sb, started Toastmasters in 2017 fall. At the meeting of Toastmasters, we have to play a variety of roles every meeting. And I have just completed all the roles. My speech skills are still immature, but many members’ feedbacks help me improve my English.

論評セッション
1番目の英語論評者Mzさん。いつも落ち着いて的確に論評される姿勢には好感が持たれます。今回もタイトルの「忘れられたポテト」で勘違いされた事を率直に言っていらしたところが良いなと思いました。
1st evaluator is Mz. She always relaxed and reviews accurately. But she has also a good sense of humour. She was frankly saying she misunderstood the meaning of the title. I liked that behaviour.
2番目の論評者Mmさん、Noさんの英語スピーチの良い所をいろいろな例を出して細部までとても情熱的に語られ、今回のベスト英語論評者に選ばれました。私にとっても一番印象に残った論評です。
