英語スピーチ例会レポート/English Speech Meeting Report

新会長のGTさんから示唆に富むスピーチがありました。
「今この時代は　COVID19の試練に合わせた柔軟な対応が必要であり、少なくとも1年は
　この状態が続くでしょう」
私たちのクラブも、この変化に柔軟に対応して行こうと改めて思いました。

The new president GT-san gave the insightful speech to all the members.
Today is flexible to meet COVID-19 hardship and it still opens and one year comes later.
His speech made us rethink that we should handle with this hardship more flexibly.

財務状況の報告/Finance Report Package FY2019

前TreasurerのNKさんより2019年のクラブの財務状況の報告がありました。
誠実な説明に感謝申し上げます。

この日の司会者とスタッフ/Today's TMOD(Toast Masters of the Day) and staff


この日の司会(TMOD)はJMさん。COVID19の状況を竹林の持つ不屈の精神、忍耐力、一生懸命さ、柔軟性に例えた素晴らしい準備スピーカの紹介で、場が明るい雰囲気に包まれました。計時係や集計係、GRAHCOなど会議のサポート役のメンバーも一生懸命サポートし、全員で会を盛り上げようとする姿勢に感動しました。


This day TMOD was JM-san.
She introduced the bamboo trees which has been equipped with persistent, patience, work hard,fate and flexible. 
Her insightful introduction gave the light, hope and joy to all the members.
While at the same time I was impressed that the support members such as Timer,vote counter, and GRAHCO  were eager to work on TMOD. 

英語スピーチセッション/Prepared Speech Session




そしてメインイベントの英語スピーチでは、4人の素晴らしい英語スピーカーが出演されました。

第一のスピ－カーはODさんでスピーチタイトルは「The compact Democratic leadership style」でODさんの15年前の勤務からの経験に基づく話で、多種多様な役割を担当した際のリーダシップのあり方、そのロールモデルとなる人の存在とその信頼感、また、Nokiaの友人のサウナ文化でのコミュニケーションの伝達など、たいへん面白く、色々考える材料になりました。

第二のスピーカーはNKさんで、スピーチタイトルは「Discovering my leadership style」でNKさんの2つの経験、1つは柔道の中学から大学までの部活動の経験、厳しい練習から脱落者を如何に引き留め、サポートするか、部員の和が何よりも重要であること、
2つ目は就職の経験から、リーダは自分を犠牲にしても、メンバーやチームに役立つ事を実践すべきとの示唆に富むスピーチに、色々、考える材料になりました。

第三のスピーカーはKRさんで、スピーチタイトルは「A few drops of healing」で、コロナ渦の外出自粛でストレスがたまる中、エッセンシャルオイルを活用したリラックス方法とその効能、またエジプトから始まったこの癒やし方法が阪神大震災でも役に立った事など、とても癒やされるスピーチでした！
匂いの持つ脳への効能と認知症にも効果がある事、KRさんの推薦はローズマリーとラベンダーでした。
私もお風呂に入れてみようかと思いました。

第四のスピーカーはOMさんで、スピーチタイトルは「Let's talk about Monthly Club Fee」で、クラブの会費に関する考察をたいへん論理的に展開していく説明に多くを学びました。
説明の構造は大きく以下の5点になります。
1.問題提起　2.現状分析３.仮説（会社と国際組織）4.組織の信条（Credo）5.提案　
会社の実務にも使えるこの論理展開を私も学びたいと思いました。

In the prepared speech session, 4 wonderful speakers addressed the captivate speeches.

 The first speaker OD-san speech came from her experience which she worked in a small company as  many variety role while at the same time she had been struggling with this job and finding out the trustworthy role  model. 

 The Second speaker NK san speech, regarding the leadership styles, he learned 2 points from his experience. The first point was based on Judo training from his junior high school to his university.
The crucial point was that he kept the drop out members at bay while at the same time taking care of the hurt mind members. 
The second point was that he learned that a leader should be a sacrifice to all the members from his business carrier.
His speech gave me food for thought.

 The third speaker KR-san, in COVID=19 social commotion, we have to stay home for 3 months in a row. We begin to feel frustrated. The essential oil might make us feel relaxed! 
This healing efficiency prevents the dementia patience from going worth.
Her recommendation is Rosemary and Lavender. Please try it!

 The forth speaker OM-san, he proposed the utility of monthly club fee to all the members.
The persuasive structure consisted of  5 portions which described  1:The proposal,2:Analysis of the present situation,3:The tentative theory,4: Based on the credo,5:New proposal.
I think his speech was well-organized  based on the fact and credo while at the same time having a good sense of humor.
I want to use this persuasive structure in my business.
Actually his speech reminded me of Johnson & Johnson Tylenol Crisis explanation which so-called described business legend as making ethical decisions in business.
I guess OM-san knows much about business explanation.

あとがき/postscript

昨日、1ヶ月ぶりに例会後のZOOM飲み会に出席しました。
参加者の方の海外生活の色々なエピソードや経験、日本との考え方や様式の違いのお話に
時を忘れて聴き入りました。
このクラブの会員の方は多士済々で私には学ぶ事がいっぱいあって、クラブに深謝です。

Yesterday for the first time in 1 month I participated in Zoom gathering party after the regular meeting.
I had been keen on listening to many variety of attendees' episode and experience from oversea life while at the same time insightful comments to make a big difference between oversea styles and Japanese ones.
I really appreciate this club members because there are the influx of talents and then I'm learning a lot from all the members.

英語スピーチ例会レポート/English Speech Meeting Report

この日は新しい会期が始まり、新役員の就任がOn SiteとZOOM（オンラインで参加）
で実施されました。
初めてのハイブリッドミーティングとなりました。

前会長のFJさん、前全役員の方々、コロナ渦の中、献身的にクラブを支えて頂き、本当にありがとうございました。

This day, new terms starts, the new officers' inauguration ceremony was held.
 We'd like to express our gratitude for the outgoing club officers in this COVID19
 tough situations. 
 It was the first day to be held in the hybrid meeting which uses both on site and 
 Zoom.


前役員の方々の意思を引き継いで、今期新役員一同、頑張って行きたいと思います。

The new officers desire to take over the outgoing officers will and then move forward to the next generation.

新会長のGTさんの就任演説は感銘深いものでした。

「私たちは伝統的な生活様式を職場でも、家庭でも、また私たちのクラブでも変えていかなければならないと思います。今日のようなハイブリッドミーティングは、新しいミーティングの方法として重要な要素の1つであることは間違いありません。
私の強調したい事は、COVID 19による困難と制限にもかかわらず、活発なクラブミーティングを維持することです。」

 新会長の熱意と手腕に期待しています。
The new president GT's inaugural speech was very impressing.

 [Inaugural Speech]
We are forced to change many traditional ways of life, at work, at home, and may be at our club as well.   In such situation I am not that optimistic to say we can grow continuously by doing the same as we did.  My bottom line is to maintain the active club meetings despite of difficulties and limitation due to COVID 19.
Hybrid meeting, like we have today, is surely one of key factors as the new way of meeting.  It could be the new normal to our cub  and to many other TMCs.

 We are looking forward to the new president enthusiasm and capability.

Induction Ceremony to New Member

この日、新メンバーにNOさんが入会頂き、Induction CeremonyをOn-siteで実施しました。NOさん、ご入会おめでとうございます！
This day we held the induction ceremony to NO-san.
Congratulations on joining our club! 


この日の司会(TMOD)はOMさん。ユーモアを交えた準備スピーカの紹介で場が一気に和みました。計時係や集計係など会議のサポート役のメンバーも一生懸命サポートしてくれて、全員で会を盛り上げようとする姿勢に感動しました。

This day TMOD was OM-san who had a full of sense of humor and then his atmosphere triggered every prepared speakers to feel relaxed.
While at the same time I was impressed that the support members such as Timer and vote counter were eager to work on TMOD.

そしてメインイベントの英語スピーチでは、3人の素晴らしい英語スピーカーが出演されました。
第一のスピ－カーはPTさんでスピーチタイトルは「Up to Your Maximum」で心に残るIce Breakerでした。
第二のスピーカーはYTさんで、スピーチタイトルは「Saying Positive」でYTさんの臨機応変さと復元力の高さを感じるスピーチでした。
第三のスピーカーはOGさんで、スピーチタイトルは「Marriage Interview」でコミカルですが、色々考える機会になりました。

In the prepared speech session,３ wonderful speakers addressed the captivate speeches.
The first speaker PT-san speech remained my heart.
The Second speaker YT san speech, I felt his flexibility and resilience from his anecdote.
The third speaker OG-san, I found a lot of fun in his verbal communication skill and his speech gave me food for thoughts.

英語スピーチ例会レポート/English Speech Meeting Report

この日は今期最後のクラブ例会でした。来月からは新しい会期が始まります。コロナ自粛解禁後もまだ緊張の続く毎日のため、出席者はオンラインで参加しました。
This day was the last regular meeting of club activities in a year. A new club year will start next month. The self-restraint due to COVID 19 is now lifted, but fear of the re-expansion remains to force us to continue Online Club meeting. 

画面には普段着でリラックスした表情の人、メイクを欠かさない人、背景はハワイあり夜空有り、、、とオンラインならではの楽しみもあります。
It is fun to watch people in the New Normal beyond the PC screen. Some looked so relaxed in everyday wear, some still make sure of good Make-ups even remote attendance. Some put a nice background screen of Hawaiian view or galaxy in the night sky. 

 この日の司会(TMOD)はOsさん。切れのいい英語でテキパキとプログラムをさばく手腕に定評があります。計時係や集計係など会議のサポート役は新人メンバーが多いのですがこの日はベテランの方々、でさすがのテキパキと運営いただきました。例会の成功にはこうした縁の下の力持ちが活躍します。
TM Os was the TMOD of the total meeting. He has a good reputation for managing the meetings as an excellent traffic cop with his excellent English. As usual, we had supporters of the meeting to Timer, Vote counter, etc. They are essential to the success of the meeting. 

ワークショップ～英語スピーチセッション/Workshop～ Prepared Speech Session

この日はワークショップでKrさんによる、英語手話教室がありました。マスクをしたままでもできる第3の言葉、"今日は"、"どうぞよろしく"、などなど簡単な日常の挨拶を米国標準手話(ASL)で紹介、参加者もそろって練習。とても楽しく素晴らしい教室でした。
The special workshop was conducted by TM Kr. ASL(American sign language )demonstration. This was timely, with ASL you can communicate with Infection protection mask on. She demonstrated simple daily conversation, ie, "Hello", "How are you?","Nice to meet you". And so on. Everybody enjoyed it. 

そしてメインイベントの英語スピーチでは、２人の素晴らしい英語スピーカーが出演されました。Jmさんはリーダーシップスタイルについての英語スピーチを披露されました。
いつも通りの素晴らしい笑みを絶やさず人々を魅惑しました。
The main part of the meeting was prepared speech and evaluation. We had two great speakers.TM Jm gave a speech related to the leadership style, good and neat presentation with her nice smile as usual.

2人目の英語スピーカー・Nkさんは観衆からの意地悪な質問をうまくさばきならがら臨場感あふれる英語スピーチを展開して観衆を沸かせました。
The other speaker TM Nk delivered a very exciting interactive session. He handled some unexpected comments and questions nicely to make a good conclusion of his speech. All audience enjoyed it very much. 

あとがき/postscript

あっという間に楽しい時間はすぎ、最後に今期1年間みなとみらいトーストマスターズクラブの役員を務めた会長のFgさん始め皆さんが挨拶、明日に夢を繋げる”虹のかなたに”を合唱して英語例会を終了しました(レポーター：Gt)
The fun time passed by so quickly. At the end of the meeting, we bid Farewell to this yeas Officers with thanks. President Fg and her officer team sang the song “Over the rainbow” hoping the prosperous years for Minatomirai toastmasters club(Reporter: TM Gt)
