英語スピーチ例会レポート/English Speech Meeting Report
5月23日のMinato Mirai Toastmasters Clubの例会は、「試してみよう！」という元気が出るテーマのもとに楽しくオンラインで行われました。Covid-19のために、クラブはここ3か月オンラインで例会をしており、この間30人ほどの会員は楽しみながらITスキルをかなり上達することができました。トーストマスターズクラブって、英語スピーチ力がつくだけじゃないんですね。
On Saturday May 23, 2020, the Minato Mirai Toastmasters Club held another successful and joyous meeting online, under the meeting theme of "Give it a try!" The club has been holding its regular meetings online for the three months under Covid-19, and now the thirty-plus members have acquired good IT skills to operate an online meeting seamlessly.
この日は何と新会員の入会式とそれに先立つ投票もオンラインでスムースに行われました。Mkさん、ようこそMinato Mirai Toastmasters Clubへ。 The club started the meeting with an induction ceremony for a new member Mk. Welcome aboard, Toastmaster Mk!
入会式の後、TM Ogはアリゲーターとクロコダイルをネタにジョークを話して会員を笑わせました。即興スピーチセッションでは、TM Sbが時宜を得たCovid-19対策に関する質問を3人の出席者に出して、とても素敵な声で出席者を魅了したTM Nkが最優秀賞を獲得しました。
At the Joke session, TM Og relaxed the members by telling two jokes on Alligator and Crocodile. Then the Table Topics Master Sb called for impromptu speeches on three members over her timely questions on measures against Covid-19. TM Nk won the best Table Topics Speaker award by answering in his sexy voice.
準備スピーチセッションでは、まずTM Avがいかに在宅勤務を楽しんでいるか、カラフルな手作りマスクや自転車の写真を見せながら話しました。

準備スピーチ・セッション/Prepared Speech Session
準備スピーチセッションでは、まずTM Avがいかに在宅勤務を楽しんでいるか、カラフルな手作りマスクや自転車の写真を見せながら話しました。
In the Prepared Speech Session, TM Av spoke about his hand-made face masks and bike while his remote working with beautiful pictures.
次に TM OgがCovid-19での人々の内面的な苦しさについて深い思索を披露しました。オンラインでは原稿を読みながら座って話す人が多いのですが、Ogさんは立って原稿なしでゆっくりと静かに重い話題について話しました。とても感動的でしたよ。
It is sure that TM Av enjoys his life even under the pandemic. Then TM Og delivered her deep thought on the dark side of the pandemic. TM Og was a determined woman who did not hesitate to speak without script standing just like in a normal in-person meeting. Her courageous attitude was moving.
続いてTM Bgが、完全な人間なんていない、というテーマで自分のリーダーシップスタイルについてユーモアたっぷりのスピーチを披露しました。4人目のTM Krはビジネスでの決断や態度について、文献調査をして話しました。とてもインテリですね。最優秀賞は、TM Bgでした。おめでとう！
The third prepared Speaker TM Bg talked about her leadership style humorously emphasizing on the importance of accepting that nobody is perfect. The final prepared speaker TM Kr demonstrated his research skills and intelligence by speaking about decision making and attitude in business. TM Bg won the Best Prepared Speaker award.
論評セッション/Evaluation Session
論評セッションでは、4人のベテラントーストマスターが準備スピーチを真心からほめるとともに更なる上達に向けてアドバイスを行いました。
In the Evaluation Session, four evaluators, namely Ad, Gt, Im, and My gave their sincere adulations and practical suggestions to the Prepared Speakers.
論評セッション司会のTM Osは、TMOD Mtのタイムマネジメントを、TM Nkの正確な計時を、TM Ktの流れるようなオンラインでの投票集計を、会員の表現力についてのGRAHCO Ydの配慮ある論評にも謝辞をのべて、全員がオンラインミーティング実施に上手になったことを祝って例会は終了しました。
Then the General Evaluator Os wrapped up the session by commending good time management of TMOD Mt, accurate timing of Timer Nk, skilful online vote counting of TM Kt, and thoughtful suggestions by Grahco Yd and by celebrating the club members for their accomplishment of skilful online meeting.
