第266回英語スピーチ例会4/28(土)活動報告

桜が散ると同時に躑躅（ツツジ）が咲き始めるゴールデンウィーク初日、みなとみらいトーストマスターズクラブの例会が開催されました。

本日のMeeting Themeは、「Spark!」　これは、春季大会と同じテーマです。本日の司会・進行を担当するFさんから「sparkの持つイメージは？」と各スピーカーに質問され、メンバーが持つ「Spark!」のイメージを答えて頂きました。また、本日のWord of the Dayは「Approve」。例会の中で、できるだけ多く、この言葉を使うことにしました。

さて、即興スピーチの後は、３名による準備スピーチが、披露されました。最初のSさんは、IT業界のトレンドであるAIのお話を。２番目のTさんからは、出張先での３つの健康維持方法をお話しを。そして、３番目のOさんからは、スピーチをする人の鍛錬やクラブの運営方法についてのお話をしていただきました。また、横浜トーストマスターズクラブの会長で、ゲストとしてご参加のTさんには、スピーチの論評も頂きました。 次回の例会は、５月１２日(土)です。

On the first day of the Golden Week, when a cherry tree falls, and azaleas begin to bloom, our meeting was held at the Shimin-Katsudo-shien-center in Sakuragi-cho, Yokohama.

Normally, in the meeting, we decide "Meeting Theme" and "Word of the Day" and incorporate them into the speech on the spot. Today's meeting theme was "Spark!". This is the same theme as the District 76 Spring Conference in May. TM F, Toastmasters of the Day, asked each member a question "What is the image of spark?" . Then, all speakers answered well.Today's “Word of the Day” was "approve". We were urged to use "approve" in the meeting as many times as possible.

Three speakers delivered their own speeches interestingly. The first TM S’s speech was about the trend of IT industry. “AI” which can be said in these days. The second TM T’s speech was how to maintain health condition at the business trip. The third TM O's speech was the way how speakers prepared for speech and suggested club management style. In addition, TM T, a guest from Yokohama Toastmasters club, took the evaluater's role. 　The next meeting is planned on May 12th (Saturday). See you again.

第266回英語スピーチ例会4/28(土)14:00＠市民活動支援センター

第266回みなとみらいトーストマスターズクラブ英語スピーチ例会は、4/28(土)14:00-16:00に横浜市市民活動支援センター4Fセミナールームで開催予定です。

例会では主に次の3つのセッションを行います。

第265回例会4/14(土) 活動報告 (meeting report)


今年は、桜が例年より早く満開になり、暖かく快適な気候になってきました。４月１４日には、４月最初の例会が、「Cheer someone on」のテーマのもと、横浜市民活動支援センターで実施されました。３月から５月にかけては、スピーチコンテストシーズンでもあり、Division E Speech Contestには、Aさんが、エリア５４代表としてコンテストに参加されます。ご活躍を応援します。さて、今日の例会には、普段より、参加者がやや少なかったですが、ゲストも２名参加し、充実した例会になりました。

即興スピーチは、春に関するテーマに対し、指名された各人は、うまくスピーチをまとめていました。その後、３名による準備スピーチです。最初のスピーチは、パラリンピックに関するもの、２番目のスピーチは、クラブに入会してからの２年間を振り返っての印象について、そして、３番目のスピーチは、海外でのマッサージの体験談で、ユーモラスな話に皆を笑いの渦に巻き込みました。次回の例会は、４月２８日(土)です。

This year, the cherry blossom has started much earlier than previous years, and it was getting warmer recently. The regular meeting on April 14th was conducted under the meeting theme "Cheer someone on". The period from March to May is the contest season, and for the Division E Speech contest, TM A will join it as the representative of our Area 54 and compete with other 6 contestants. We will cheer him on. The table topic was conducted by the theme of "Spring" and members in charge made speeches pleasantly.

Then, the prepared speeches by 3 members were made. The first speech title was "Viva Paralympian!". The second speech title was "Past two years", and the last speech title was "Massage". She made her speech humorously by her own experience overseas. After the meeting, some members with a guest enjoyed chatting in a casual bar. The next meeting is on April 28th at the same venue. 第264回英語スピーチ例会3/24(土)活動報告

第264回みなとみらいトーストマスターズクラブ英語スピーチ例会は、普段と異なり、なか区民活動センターで開催されました。テーマは、「Let's Go to the Next stage」です。
多くの会員の参加のみならず、シンガポール人や印度人もゲスト参加し、例会を盛り上げることができました。さらに、今回は、４つの準備スピーチに加え、Mentoring Systemのワークショップもあり、多彩なプログラムを聴く機会となりました。準備スピーチにおいては、Kさんが、Competent　Communication　Manualの最後となるProject10のスピーチをされました。いよいよ、Advanced Manualへの挑戦です。次回は、４月１４日(土)に桜木町の横浜市市民活動支援センター４Fで行います。

The 264th meeting was conducted at Naka Kumin Katsudo Center on March 24th. The theme was "Let's Go to the Next Stage". Not only our members but also two guests (one from Singapore, and one from India) joined it. Among 4 prepared speeches, TM K accomplished the Project 10 (Inspiring Your Audience) of Competent Communication manual. Congratulations, TM K. The next meeting is on April 14th.(Sat) at Yokohama Shimin Katsudo Shien Center 4F.  See you again.

エリア54スピーチコンテスト速報 - Area 54 Speech Contest report

The 2018 Area 54 Speech Contest (in Japanese and English) was held at Yashima Gakuen University on Sunday, March 18th. There were 6 contestants in the Japanese competition and 6 contestants in the English competition. These speakers represented the 4 Toastmasters Clubs in Yokohama, Kanagawa.

The winner of the English competition was TM Y.A. from Minato-Mirai Toastmasters Club, whose speech was entitled, “Listen to Your Heart”. Another member of Minato-Mirai Toastmasters Club, TM Y.T, won third place with his speech entitled “It's Okay to Quit”.

TM Y.A. will proceed to the Division Contest held at Kawasaki Lifelong Learning Plaza on Sunday, April 15th, 2018.

Everyone enjoyed listening to the deeply personal stories of these speeches that talked about overcoming challenges in work situations. We learned a lot!

第263回例会3/10(土) 活動報告 (meeting report)

３月になって始めての例会が、「We love Yokohama」のテーマのもと、横浜市民活動支援センターで開催されました。今日も多くの会員やゲストが参加され、充実した例会となりました。Kさんによる司会、進行で、例会が始められ、まず、新しい教育プログラム「Pathways」について、40分間のプレゼンテーションが行われました。このプログラムは、日本では、いよいよ４月２４日から導入されるため、皆さんの関心度も高く、有意義な時間となりました。その後、３名の方々が準備スピーチをそれぞれのプロジェクトの目標に基づき、行われました。　論評者たちも、それぞれの観点から論評をされ、今後のスピーチにとても役立てることができました。　次回の例会は、３月２４日(土)です。
The regular meeting on March 10th was conducted by many participants under the meeting theme "We love Yokohama".  After the business session, "Pathways", a new educational program, was presented for 40 min. Since its rollout is planned from April 24th, participants were very interested in it and some questions were raised from the floor.  After that, three prepared speakers delivered their speeches. All of them were awesome and we enjoyed it. The next meeting is on March 24th.
