The Meeting
今日は新たなメンバーが入会しました。彼を迎えて、クラブで入会式を行いました。英語で話したい、スピーチをしたい、コミュニケーションを習得したい、英語を使ってリーダーシップを発揮できるようになりたい、という人にはトーストマスターズクラブは最適な環境です。どしどし参加してください。初回はゲストとして出席していただき、３回参加した後、メンバーに応募できます。
We welcomed a new member today and held an induction ceremony at the club for him. Toastmasters is the ideal environment for anyone who wants to speak English, give speeches, master communication skills, or develop leadership abilities using English. We encourage you to join us! You can attend your first meeting as a guest, and after participating three times, you are eligible to apply for membership.
さて、今回のテーマは Let's enjoy summer. でした。異常に暑い日々が続いていますが、メンバーが今まで体験した暑さを語り合う場になりました。
The theme for this session was "Let's enjoy summer." We have been experiencing unusually hot days, and the session became an opportunity for members to share stories about the hottest weather they have ever experienced.
今日の最初のプリペアードスピーチは、英語以外の外国語を学ぶ意味について、自身の仕事の経験からのスピーチでした。英語だけでなく他の言語への興味も尽きないものです。二番目のスピーチは、架空の会社の朝の会議で「在宅勤務を止めよう」と提案した人事部長のスピーチとそれに対しての他のメンバーからの意見とその対応コミュニケーションでした。３番目のスピーチはクローゼットの中の片付けをするモチベーションについて、「何もしない前からモチベーションは生まれない。行動を起こした後にモチベーションが生まれる。」という話でした。どれも様々な視点からの見方を教えてくれたスピーチでした。
The first prepared speech of the day drew on the speaker's professional experience to discuss the significance of learning foreign languages other than English—a topic that highlights our enduring interest in languages beyond just English. The second speech took the form of a scenario at a fictional company: a Human Resources manager proposed ending remote work, followed by a presentation of the other team members' reactions and the ensuing communication. The third speech focused on finding the motivation to tidy up a closet, conveying the message that motivation does not arise before you start; rather, it emerges only after you take action. Each speech offered valuable insights from a variety of perspectives.

毎月第2、第4土曜日の14:00〜16:00に例会を行っています。

The Minato Mirai Toastmasters Club, active in the Minato Mirai, Kannai, and Sakuragicho areas of Yokohama, offers a place to enjoy practicing English speeches while developing skills in public speaking, presentations, and leadership.
We hold regular meetings on the second and fourth Saturday of every month from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
Our members come from diverse backgrounds—spanning various age groups, nationalities, professions, and hobbies—and we enjoy connecting and learning together.
