The Meeting
今回のテーマは「Transitions（変化、推移）」でした。今年の夏はまたしても異常な暑さでした。その夏から少しずつ季節が変わりつつあるのを実感している今日この頃です。１～２分のテーブルトピックスピーチでは、そのような「季節の変化」や、「人生の中での転機」などをトピックにして５人のスピーチがありました。
The theme for this session was "Transitions." We experienced unusually intense heat this year, but lately, I have been feeling the season gradually shifting away from that summer. During the one-to-two-minute "Table Topics" session, five speakers gave talks based on this theme, covering topics such as seasonal changes and transitions in life.
今日もプリペアードスピーチの一つは、新入会された方のアイスブレーキングスピーチでした。「アイスブレーキングスピーチ」とは、初対面の人たちや緊張した場の空気を和らげるために行う、自己紹介スピーチで、４分から６分の時間内で行われます。自分が人と接することが不得意なのを自覚して、その殻を自ら破って進んで生きてきた様子を話されました。そして、また、新たな挑戦としてこのクラブに入って、人前で話すことを克服したいというスピーチは、素晴らしいメッセージでした。彼は今日のベストスピーカーに選ばれました。トーストマスターズクラブはスピーチを通してコミュニケーションとリーダーシップをインターナショナルに学ぶことができる貴重な場所です。トーストマスターズクラブには、様々な年齢層の人々がおり、経験や知識を共有することができます。
One of today's prepared speeches was an "Ice Breaker" delivered by a new member. An Ice Breaker is an introductory speech—lasting four to six minutes—designed to break the ice and ease tension when meeting new people. The speaker shared his journey of overcoming his natural difficulty in interacting with others and his determination to step out of his comfort zone. His message—that he joined the club as a new challenge to conquer his fear of public speaking—was truly inspiring, and he was voted the day's Best Speaker. Toastmasters is a valuable environment for developing communication and leadership skills within an international framework. The club brings together people of diverse ages, allowing members to share their experiences and knowledge.
横浜市のみなとみらい、関内、桜木町周辺で活動しているみなとみらいトーストマスターズクラブは英語スピーチを楽しく練習し、話し方、プレゼンテーション、リーダーシップを学ぶことができる場です。
毎月第2、第4土曜日の14:00〜16:00に例会を行っています。

The Minato Mirai Toastmasters Club, active in the Minato Mirai, Kannai, and Sakuragicho areas of Yokohama, offers a place to enjoy practicing English speeches while developing skills in public speaking, presentations, and leadership.
We hold regular meetings on the second and fourth Saturday of every month from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
Our members come from diverse backgrounds—spanning various age groups, nationalities, professions, and hobbies—and we enjoy connecting and learning together.
