Our first online meeting kicked off as our regular meeting #309 with a speech from the Club President, TM Fj. <Note> In recent weeks the Toastmasters Board of Directors has extended the authorization to clubs in certain Districts in Asia including D76 (Japan), in Europe, and in the United States to conduct meetings that are exclusively online.
TM Krさん（Osさん代行） の選んだ本日の例会テーマは、”Resilience”。 「回復力、反発力」を意味します。またGRACHOのDTM Ydさんが選んだ本日の言葉”Boost”は、 動詞で「高める・押し上げる」の意味があります。この二つの言葉には、コロナ感染の広がりというこの困難な時期に、われわれを勇気づけてくれるパワーを感じます。
Toastmaster of the Day, TM Kr said, “Let’s get started by reviewing today’s meeting theme, which is Resilience.” She added, “Resilience means the capacity to recover quickly from difficulties; toughness.” Also, GRACHO DTM Yd chosen “Boost” as the Word of the Day. “Boost” verb means to make something increase or become better or more successful. These two words really encouraged us during these challenging times due to coronavirus outbreak across the country.
さて最初のセッションのJoke/Tips MasterのTM Sbさん、Table Topics MasterのTM Mzさんのお二人は、共に十分な準備をしてくれ、この初オンライン例会をアイスブレークしてくれました。
Both Joke/Tips Master TM SB and Table Topics Master TM Mz succeeded to kick-start our meeting. Their talks are well prepared.
準備スピーチ・セッション/Prepared Speech Session
ベスト・スピーカー賞は、TM Noさんが受賞。おめでとうございます！詳細は、下記をご覧ください。TM Ogさん：英語スピーチタイトルは「Amazing Device」。当事者ならでの実体験に基づく貴重な証言録といえる立派なスピーチでした。TM Noさん：英語スピーチタイトルは「My best choice for OHANAMI place in Minato-Mirai」みなとみらい地図を画面に示しながら、見事にお花見スポットをナビゲートしてくれ多くの人の共感を得ました。TM No won the Best Speaker Award. Congratulations! Please see the details below. TM Og made a great speech with the title “Amazing Device.” Her topic was important records of pieces of evidence based on real experiences. TM No's speech title is "My best choice for OHANAMI place in Minato-Mirai. He guided us cherry blossom viewing spots by showing the Map effectively.
TM Myさん：英語スピーチタイトル「Let me introduce myself」。ご自身の生い立ちから、ご家族のご紹介、そしてインドご出張の話など、エキサイティングなIcebreakerでした。TM Trさん：英語スピーチタイトル「Questionable Financials of Toastmasters International」。同氏は、表題について明瞭にリサーチしてくれました。本トピックは多くのオーディエンスにとって何か示唆に富むものであったかも知れませんね。
TM Miyamoto made an icebreaker speech with the title “Let me introduce myself.” I am impressed by his beautiful photo slides to show that includes his family and his recent business trip to India, etc. TM Td’s speech tile is “Questionable Financials of Toastmasters International”. He had clearly researched the subject and many of the audience probably felt that it was the thought-provoking matter.
論評セッション/Evaluation Session
総じて皆さんからのフィードバックは、積極的で快活、楽しいものでした。ベスト論評賞は、TM Asさんが獲得しました。 Asさんの論評は、スピーカーTdさんの選んだファイナンス関連トピックに対し分析的であり、かつTdさんのこれ迄のクラブ貢献に対し温かい励ましの言葉を送っていたのが印象的でした。またベスト・テーブル・トピック賞は、TM Adさんが受賞。Overall, four evaluator’s comments were positive and upbeat. TM As won the Best Evaluator Award. TM As appeared strong analytical thinker, and he used good words of encouragement to Speaker TM Tr’s contribution to the club at the close. TM Ad received the Best Table Topics Award.
あとがき/Editor’s Note
皆さん、今日の初オンライン・ミーティングの開催に向けご協力頂き、本当に有難うございました。またこのZoomミーティングの準備に奔走してくれたVPE KrさんとOtさんのお二人に、この場を借りお礼を申し上げます。今日の初オンライン・ミーティングの成功は、私どもに自信をつけ、またクラブメンバーの士気を高めてくれたと思います。Everyone, thank you for your support to make this first online meeting a success today. Also, I want to thank both VPE Kr and TM Ot, for offering to help out with this Zoom online project. I really appreciate their willingness to assist. I believe that the success of today’s first online meeting will boost the club members’ confident/morals.
