例会レポートです！

本日はハロウィーン間近！と言うことで仮装して臨んだ例会です！差し入れのおやつも沢山頂きましてありがとうございます！！

冒頭、TMODのFjさんから、ハロウィーンの起源のお話がありました。ハロウィーンはアイルランド、スコットランド近辺で大昔のケルト民族が行ったものですが、目的は２つあるそうです。

ひとつ目は秋の最終日(ケルト人の暦上は年の終わり)である10月31日に収穫祭が行われ、かがり火をたき、そこへ穀物や生け贄を捧げるためです。
ふたつ目は、この時期は家族の元に死者の霊だけでなく、悪霊や魔女なども訪れると言われていたので仮装して魔除けとするためだそうです。


みなとみらいトーストマスターズクラブが誇る看板女優のお二人。ノリノリになると止まりません笑。
本日のJoke & TipsをされたMtさん(写真右)は、ディズニーに王子コスプレの集団で行った時のお話を躍動感たっぷりにお話し頂きました。

続きまして、本日のプリペアード・スピーチセッションです。

1人目のkrさん
小さい頃、お風呂に入るのが苦手だった彼女が、汚いままだと洗いに来るおばけがいると聞きお風呂に入るようになったと言う可愛らしいエピソードでした。
日本で言うところの「あかなめ」でしょうか。ロシアの文化のお話もとっても興味深いです。


2人目のNkさん。人前で話す事が苦手だった彼女がワークショップをどう成功に導いたのか？と言うお話をして頂きました。次回のワークショップでどんな進化を見せてくれるのか、今から楽しみです。

3人目のDiさん。本日のスピーチプロジェクトが「Research Your Topics」と言うことで、世界のレストランのお話をして頂きました。世界一古いレストランから、世界一広いレストランまで、、、。帽子もとっても似合っています！

4人目のAdさん。幼少期から得意だった美術での挫折と再開してからの発見について。これが2回目のスピーチとは思えないほどの内容で、メンバー一同多くの感銘を受けたようです。

English Speech Meeting Report

It is a regular meeting report!

Halloween is approaching!  So, we eagerly costumed each other!! And thank you very much for all the snacks served!!

In the beginning, Ms Fj, TMOD talked about the origin of Halloween. Halloween was done by ancient Celtic folk near Ireland and Scotland, two purposes of Halloween were as follows.

The first purpose was the harvest festival that was held on the last day of autumn (the end of the year on the Celtic calendar), the bonfire was woken, the grain and the sacrifice were dedicated there.

The second one seems to be because it was said that not only the spirit of the dead but also evil spirits and witches visit the house during this period, so they were disguised as an amulet.

At “Joke & Tips Session, Ms Mt who took a role talked about a Halloween story with a lively dynamism when she went to Disney Land as a group of prince cosplay.

Then prepared speech session was held.

First Ms kr spoke. When she was a child, she hated to take the bath, but after hearing that there was a ghost to come to wash if she was dirty, she started bathing. So cute episode!

Is may equivalent to "Akaname" in Japan? The story of Russian culture is also very interesting.

The second person Ms Nk talked about her achievement in the workshop. She explained how she managed to conduct the workshop successfully although he was not good at speaking in public. We are looking forward to seeing what evolution will be shown at the next workshop.

The third person was Ms Di. Today 's her speech project was "Research Your Topics”. She talked about restaurants in the world. Starting from the world's oldest restaurant to the world's largest restaurant. Her research ability was enormous!

Ad of the 4th person talked about frustration in the art that she was good at when she was a child. She also talked about her discovery after resuming. Though this seems to be a second speech but  many members were impressed by the contents.

英語スピーチの長き道を駆け抜けるのは誰だ！？第276回例会レポート！

例会レポートです！

DCP(Distinguished Club Program)受賞の発表が有りました。DCPとはカンタンに説明すると、トーストマスターズ本部から先期一年間を通じての活動が優れていた団体に贈られるawardでして、メンバーのマニュアル進捗度、新規メンバーの加入などが評価指標です。

去年１年で新規メンバーが大幅に増えているので、その部分も評価戴いてるようです。先期のVPEのSbさん、献身的なご活動本当にありがとうございました！

さて、本日の目玉企画は英語スピーチマラソン！今回は7人のスピーカーが逞しく披露して行きました。成長の機会を存分に活かしてくださいね。

１人目のMzさん、「謙虚でいる為には新しい語学を学ぶと良い」と言う趣旨の英語スピーチをしてくださいました。新しい言語を勉強することは、単語、文法、発音、、、と様々な要素があるので、傲慢になる時間がありません。

2人目のNkさん。京都で突然、同時通訳を勤める事になった時の経験をお話しいただきました。「日本語と英語の構造の違いのために通訳した内容が真逆になってしまった」と言うエピソードにメンバー一同爆笑でした。

3人目のKrさん。トーストマスターズ経験４年の中で培われた経験をお話しいただきました。参加した時に定めた「CCマニュアルを修了する迄にベストスピーカーを達成する」と言う目標をキチッと達成していく計画性は流石です！

4人目のMtさん、お仕事でごみ処理の問題を扱われているので、経験を元にご自身の豊富や社会問題等をお話しいただきました。Mtさんは宝塚鑑賞が趣味のせいか、とってもフォトジェニックです。

5人目のKrさん。入会する前に取り組んでいた英語試験から学んだ成功するための4つの要素についてお話し頂きました。前月はインドのトーストマスターズにも参加されたそうです。

6人目のOsさん、ご自身の「My Life Plan」についてのお話しです。表情豊かなベテラントーストマスターのOsさんからは、間の取り方、テンポ、声のトーンなど学ぶ所がたくさん有ります。

7人目のSbさん、CLマニュアルの知られざる機能とメンバーへの提案をしてくださいました。Sbさんは、例会をよくする提言をいつもくださいます。また、14分の長丁場スピーチお疲れ様です。

本日のベストスピーカーはNkさんに贈呈されました。二回連続のプリペアード・スピーカーとしての受賞、おめでとうございます！

あとがき:論評セッションが新鮮だと思いました。気付いた事は、人の論評に「乗っかる」事で、発言内容がどんどん洗練されていくことです。これはスピーカーにとっても良い事です。

通常例会ですと、プリペアード・スピーカー⇔論評者間の関係なのですが、関係性の矢印が放射線状に延びている感じです。

とても盛り上がった例会でした。スピーカーだけで無く、参加者の大部分が発言していたので、満足度が高かった会だと思いました。

English Speech Meeting Report

It is a regular meeting report!

First, an announcement of DCP (Distinguished Club Program) was held. DCP is the award that Toastmasters headquarter sends to the excellent club, and praise for members' manual progress, joining of new members and so on.

As the number of new members has increased dramatically in the last year, it seems that the part has also been evaluated. Mr Sb, VPE of the previous term, Thank you very much for your dedicated activities!

Today's regular meeting was held as English speech marathon. Seven speakers delivered a speech. Please make full use of growth opportunities.

Mz, the first speaker, said that "In order to be humble, we should learn new languages." Learning a new language requires various elements such as vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation, so there is no time to be arrogant.

The second person Nk. talked about his experience when he suddenly was assigned as an interpreter in Kyoto. Members all laughed at an episode that "Due to differences between the structure of Japanese and English, the meaning has become reverse".

The third person Kr. talked about experiences cultivated within Toastmasters' 4 years. She was planning to  get the best speaker by the time she completes the cc manual and succeeded, she has a strong willingness!

Ms Mt, the fourth person, is dealing with garbage disposal issues, so She told about her own experience and social problems. Mt is very photogenic because she is a big fan of Takarazuka.

Kr of the 5th person, talked about the four elements to succeed that He learned from the English exam before joining Toastmasters club. Last month He participated in Indian Toastmasters.

Os, the sixth person,’s speech is about his own "My Life Plan". Veteran Toastmaster Os has many places to learn such as how to put the pause, tempo and tone.

The seventh person Sb,  explained the unknown function of the CL manual. Mr Sb always makes suggestions to improve our club. Also, I appreciate his speech in the 14th minute.


Today's best speaker was presented to Mr. Nk. Congratulations on winning twice in a row as a prepared speaker!

Postscript: I thought the evaluation session was fresh. What I noticed was by riding on other ’s evaluations, the quality of evaluations became refined more and more. This is also good for the speaker.

It was a very exciting regular meeting. Not only the speakers but most of the participants were continuously speaking, so I thought that it was a meeting where the satisfaction was high.

通常の英語スピーチの合間に10月5日に野島公園でバーベキューを行いました！

今年の主宰回数が8回目！のバーベキューマスターkbさん、ギター持参で盛り上げてくれたgtさん、ウクレレマスターのfjさん、名フォトグラファーのmtさん他集まって賑やかな会になりました。

台風も無事逸れてくれたので、爽やかな秋晴れの中開催出来ました♪

あなたの"Favorite"は何ですか？第275回英語スピーチ例会レポート！

第275回の例会レポートです！19人のメンバーと4人のゲストで開催されました。貴重な休日を割いてのご参加、ありがとうございます！

<例会後のアフターパーティーの一コマから>

本日もPresidentのAsさんからスタート。はじめに10月に開催されるバーベキューの案内が有りました。バーベキューマスターのKbさんがいるので、今から楽しみです♪

<Asさんの司会からスタート>

総合司会にバトンタッチし、通常の例会に入ります。 本日のテーマは、「暗いニュースが続く昨今、落ち込み気味な気持を明るくしたい！」という思いから”My Favorite Things”、word of the dayはテーマと繋げて”Avid(熱心な)”です。メンバーの単語力強化のため、難し目の単語が選ばれ、積極的に使われることを奨励されています。さて、”Avid”は何回使われるでしょうか？

続いて特別企画として、Trさんにより新教材・Pathwaysの使い方についてワークショップが開かれました。全てオンラインである新教材の分かりづらい点をシンプルに解説してくださいました。

Table Topics Sessionでは”Favorite books”に関する質問について、各メンバーが答えます。“お気に入りの本は何ですか?その理由は??” “もし自分が本の世界の中へ行けるなら、どの作品を選びますか？”といった質問への回答を、即興で答えて行きます。制限時間は2分間。1番難しいセッションであると、メンバーからよく聞きます。

Prepared Speech Sessionでは、4人のメンバーが練りに練ったスピーチを披露します。1人目のGtさんはご自身の人生経験から夢を実現化するためのプランの重要性を説く”Plan Your Life”のお話、2人目のShさんは、“My First Year in the Toastmasters Club“でクラブに参加してご自身が得られた経験のお話、3人目のKaさんは、ご自分にとって真に快適な場所は何かを“Next Place”でお話頂きました。4人目のAsさんはご自身の“Mission Impossible”な出来事を同名の映画のテーマ曲とともに、スリリングにスピーチをしてくださいました。

休憩を挟んだEvaluation Sessionでは、 Fwさん、Krさん、Tmさん、Imさんに論評頂きました。ベテラントーストマスター・IwさんによるGeneral Evaluatorで例会の総括と気づけない部分への指摘を頂きました。

あとがき： 例会最後には発言していない方に話してもらう時間があります。本日は久々に参加してくださったYsさんや台湾・フィリピンから4名のゲストがいらっしゃいました。 “価値あるアイデアを広げている”とありがたいコメントもいただきました。

その後に、恒例(?) のアフターパーティを開催し、ゲスト含め賑やかな会となりました。他国のクラブの様子を聞いたり、例会の意見交換をしたり、終始楽しい時間を過ごすことができました。

English Speech Meeting Report

It is the 275th meeting report. 19 members and 4 guests ware attended. Thank you for joining us for taking precious holidays!

The meeting had started by President As’s short speech. Today 's business session had an announcement of the upcoming event, Barbeque Party! Since TM Kb, BBQ Master was going to organize the party, we cannot wait for it!

After handed over the meeting control, TM Kr, Toastmaster of the Day, Today’s meeting theme is "My Favorite Things", and "Word of the Day" is "Avid". Members were encouraged to use the word as much as possible during the meeting.

In Table Topics Session, each member answered questions about “Favorite Books”. Each answered and put together well.

In the Prepared Speech Session, first speaker Gt made his speech about ”Plan Your Life”. Second speaker Sb talked about the story, which is her Toastmaster experience with various voice tones, and then third speaker Kb delivered the speech about his comfortable place very humorously. 4th speaker TM As depicted his impossible mission with thrilling music.

After the intermission, the Evaluation Session was held. Each prepared speaker got comments from evaluators. Veteran Toastmaster Iw’s evaluated entire meeting properly, his comments were so informative!

After that, Today's "Best speaker" was announced!

Today's Best Prepared Speaker was TM As!!

Best table topics Speaker Award was sent for Ad, the Best Evaluator was I'm.

Postscript: At the end of the meeting, a silent member who did not speak during the meeting and guests made comment about the meeting. TM Ys visited the meeting for the first time in 6 months and She will come back in next term. Each guest also gave positive comments like “Idea spreading”.

At the afterparty, all guests had joined us and enjoyed chatting and drinking together.

Make it shine♪第274回英語スピーチ例会レポート

第274回の例会レポートです！本日は16人のメンバーと3人のゲストで開催されました。

本日もPresidenのAsさんからスタート。本日の目玉は、新メンバーのOgさんのInduction ceremonyです。どんな化学反応を起こしてくれるか、メンバー一同楽しみです。

本日の例会のテーマは「Make it shine!」、word of the dayはGRACHOのIsさんが挙げた「drastic」です。これから磨いて行きたい分野やコトをメンバーそれぞれが答え、「drastic」をスピーチに組み込んで行きます。

Table Topics Session (即興スピーチ)では、Taさんからの「月についてどれくらい知っていますか？」「最も好きな家事と嫌いな家事はなんですか？」と言った質問について、各々、即興で上手く纏めて答えて行きます。

ベストテーブルトピックス賞には、就任式を終えたばかりのOgさんがいきなりの受賞！「家にあるアンティーク家具で1番好きな物は何？」と言う質問に「私はミニマリストなので、家に家具が全然無い。子供の頃、、、」と言う回答であっと言わせて行きました。

Prepared Speech Session（準備スピーチ）では、四人のメンバーがそれぞれ嗜好を凝らしたスピーチを披露します。1人目は本日スピーチデビューをしたKiさん。ご自身の専門である自然科学の話、2人目のKaさんは静岡で生活していた時の新発見のお話を披露いただきました。

3人目のKuさんは「人の怒り（沸点）」に関する自身の経験をお話頂き、4人目のYさんは、ご自身のメンターの事や、近辺のトーストマスターズクラブとの関わりについてお話いただきました。YさんはMMTMCだけで無く他のクラブとの交流も盛んな方ですので、興味深く聞く事が出来ました。

休憩を挟んだEvaluation Session（論評）では、General EvaluatorのSさんの司会に続き、Asさん、Teさん、Iwさん、Osさんに論評頂きました。スピーチの中身だけで無く、構成や表現方法まで注意を払って聞いて頂いているので、参考になります。  

あとがき： ここの所、多くの方にゲスト参加いただき、ありがとうございます！MMTMCは、英語圏で育ったメンバー・海外勤務経験の長い方・資格試験だけ勉強して来たメンバー等、多種多様なメンバーがおりますので、気兼ねなく参加してくださいね。

English Speech Meeting Report

It is the 274th meeting report! Today’s meeting was held with 16 members and 3 guests.

Today we also started with President As’s remark.

Today's big feature was the induction ceremony for Og, a new member. We are looking forward to seeing the chemistry.

The theme of today's meeting is "Make it shine!", and word of the day is "drastic" mentioned by Is, GRAHCO. Members will answer the fields and things they want to polish, and they incorporated "drastic" into their speech.

Next, Table Topics Session was held, Ta's "How much do you know about the moon?", "What is your favourite house chores and less favourite ones?”. Each member answered successfully.

Best TableTopics Award was sent for Og who just finished her inauguration ceremony! In the question "What is your favourite antique furniture at home?" Saying, "Because I am a minimalist, I have no furniture at home, when I was a child...."

Next to the TableTopics session, Prepared Speech Session was held. Members delivered the tasteful speeches.

First, Ki who made a speech debut today spoke a story of her own expertise, natural science. Second, Ka talked about a new discovery when she was living in Shizuoka Pref.

The third person, Ku talked about his own experience about "anger emotion(boiling point) ", and Y, the 4th person, talked about his mentor and the relationship with other Toastmasters clubs in the area.Y often appeared not only MMTMC but also other clubs, so we were able to hear it interestingly.

In the Evaluation Session was held after intermission. As, Te, Is and Os commented after S’s General Evaluator remark. Not only the contents of the speech but also the composition and the way of expression are paid attention, thus it was so informative!

MMTMC has a wide variety of members, such as members who grew up in the English-speaking countries, those who have long experience working foreign country, members who have studied only for the examination, so please attend without hesitation!!
