言語を超える英語スピーチ！第281回合同英語例会レポート！

例会レポートです！本日は4クラブ合同例会！60人近く、なんと他地区のクラブからも参戦の大盛況の例会でした。実行委員の皆様が数ヶ月間準備して来た例会です。

冒頭に日英クラブの代表からの挨拶、次いで前半のTMODのTrさんにバトンタッチです。

ジョーク&ティップスセッションでお話を披露頂いたみなとみらいトーストマスターズクラブのTmさん。ご自身の結婚記念日の面白エピソードから、「NEWS」の語源と言った真面目なお話まで盛りだくさんな内容でした。


どれも、「明日、誰かに話したくなる」話ばかりでした。Tmさん、日英双方でご提供頂くご配慮まで頂き、ありがとうございました！

続きまして、青山ランチよりKsさん。ご家族に代々伝わる秘伝の「こんにゃく体操」で場を和ませて頂きました。カラダもココロも解れた状態で、次のテーブルトピックスセッションに移る事が出来ました。

TMODが横浜トーストマスターズクラブのSkさんにバトンタッチし、いよいよお楽しみのプリペアード・スピーチセッションです！

1人目は横浜トーストマスターズクラブよりNbさん。子育て等のイベントを通じて発見された幸福に関する英語スピーチをお話をして頂きました。

2人目は関内クラブよりHsさん。タイトルは「大した人間じゃないんだし」。仕事で関わった人から受けた手酷い言葉から学んだ事、物事を巧く進めるためのtipsが散りばめられたスピーチでした。

人は成功体験を積むほど自意識が肥大した結果、自分が凄い人間だと想いがちです。人は人からしか学び得ません。我々が謙虚さを取り戻せるのはいつも他人からなのかもしれません。

3人目はみなとみらいトーストマスターズクラブより、Adさん。「痛み」とは、フィジカルな問題では無く、実はメンタルな問題が起因している。と言う内容を実証と交えてお話くださいました。

8月の第272回英語スピーチ例会で圧巻のデビューを果たされたAdさんですが、本日も聴衆を前に堂々と話されていました。お疲れさまでした！

4人目はオーシャンクラブよりAoさん

コンテストでも有名人のAoさんですが、改めてご自身の自己紹介から始まり、自慢の愛嬌で修羅場を潜り抜けて来た経験についてユーモアを交えてお話頂きました。換喩を用いたタイトル、「掴み」で笑いを持っていく様は英語スピーチにも適用出来るものです。

スペシャルスピーチで不朽の名作・「男の楽園」を披露頂いたエリアディレクターのSrさん。

あっという間の三時間でした。日英のスピーチ例会が、英語クラブのみなとみらいトーストマスターズクラブで受けていれて頂けるかと言う不安も有りましたが、メンバー一同楽しんで、参加されていたようです。

企画頂いた4クラブのプレジデントの皆様、運営に携わっていただいた皆様。お疲れさまでした。

English Speech Meeting Report

It is a regular meeting report!

Today, we have 4 clubs joint meeting! Nearly 60 people were gathered. So enthusiastic atmosphere!! Planners have prepared for a month.

Greetings from the presidents of the two clubs were remarked at the beginning, then TM Tr of TMOD spoke.
TM Tm from MMTMC who gave us a story at the Joke & Tips session. Starting from the interesting episode of his own wedding anniversary, he spoke plenty of contents crammed into the short period such as the origin of "NEWS".

All of them were truly the tips that we want to talk to someone immediately. Thank you for your kind consideration given both in Japanese and the English.

Then the workshop was held by TM Ks from Aoyama lunch. She entertained by her special "Konjac Excersize" which is passed down by her family. Thanks to it, we were able to move on to the following TableTopics session smoothly.

TMOD is baton-touched to TM Sk from YTMC, and a Prepared speech session was held.

The first speaker was TM Nb from YTMC. She talked about a story and the song about 2 incidents that changed the whole view of being successful in life.

The second speaker was Hs from Kannai club. And the title of the speech was "You're not a special person"

It was a speech interspersed by what He learned from the bad words that He got from people involved in jobs. It contains tips for proceeding the works successfully.As a result of success and experience, we tend to think that we are special. People can only learn from people. Perhaps we can be regaining humility from other people at any time.

The third person was TM Ad from MMTMC. According to her speech, Pain is not a physical problem, actually, it is caused by a mental problem. She talked with the proof.

She was made an amazing speech debut in August, she also performed eloquently in front of the audience today. Congratulations!

The fourth person was Ao from Ocean Club.

Also, he is well known in the contest, today he spoke by his own self-introduction again, he incorporated humour into the speech, he survived lots of dangerous situation by his charm. The title using metonymy, the opening was so humorous and got an audience hooked. We can learn lots of things from his speech although it was a Japanese speech!!

Postscript:Three hours past quickly. We were worried that the Japanese-English speech regular meeting could be taken at the MMTMC. Because we are characterized by an English club, but it seems that the members enjoyed it.

To all the presidents of the four clubs you planned, everyone who engaged in the operation. Thank you for your hard work!!
