Hello, everyone!!
Spring is the season of finding/welcoming new friends and members at school and workplace. Spring is the season of departure and the new step of life. People are moving and things are changing. What do you love and cherish continuously in your daily life?
Every time I join our meeting, I feel excited, relaxed and also motivated, like being accepted as I am. It is our culture. That is the color of our club. Any color can fit and be part of it.
Friends!! Let’s look back at our last meeting♪♪
好きなもの。気の合う仲間と頑張る時間と競争の日常業務、たわいもないことをワイワイ楽しく話しながら食べる昼食。行き帰りの道から見える綺麗な富士山。
なんでもないようで、このときが永続するわけではないことをふと思うと、なおさら愛おしいような気持ちになる。春なのに。春だから？社会人歴が長くなるほど、毎年繰り返しでとくに変わらないような気にもなるけれど、出会いと別れがあるそんな季節。心ざわめく今日この頃。
仲間って、組織ってなんだろう。そんなことを思いつつ、笑顔と愛に満ちたみなとみらいに来るとほっとする。毎回参加メンバーは一緒じゃない。でも同じスピリットが流れている。今回もわたしたちのミーティングはみなとみらい色。
＜TMOD/ 司会挨拶＞
The host of the meeting was ™.FR. He came up with the meeting theme on Valentine’s day. It is the special “day of love” especially in Mexico, his home country. People express their love not only between the couples but also moms & kids, friends and so on.
He could not say “I love you” to his mom before but now he can. He encourages and invites us to tell our love to our beloved ones with our words. We don’t know his whole life story but
his bitter sweet words reached our hearts. That is how our meeting started.
今回の司会はFRさん。「愛の日」このテーマを思いついたのがバレンタインだった。「バレンタイン」はFRさんの出身国メキシコではとりわけ特別な日だそう。「愛と友情の日」恋愛関係にあるカップルだけではなく、母から子へ、友人同士…大切な人を想い、その親愛なる気持ちを伝えあう。
「自分は以前、母になかなか『大好きだよ』って言えなかった。今は言えるようになった。だからこそ、そうした思いをもっとみんなも言葉にして言えるようになればいいなと思うんだ」というFRさん。その言葉の奥には、まだ知らない彼の歴史があるのだろう。チョコレートよりも甘くてほろ苦いストーリーから例会は始まりました。
＜Table Topics Session / 即興スピーチ＞
At the Table Topics Session, we develop our impromptu speech skills.
The Table Topics Master was ™OS.
He facilitated this session based on a project of “Active Listening”. He asked questions and the members answered them. He briefly summarized the answers and gave them encouraging and positive feedback messages.
The questions were: “Tell us about your first love”, “Describe your lost, painful love”, “How are you adept at falling in love?”, and “What is your current love”. Exciting questions!! He did a great job!!
【テーブルトピックス】のセッションでは、その場でお題が与えられて、１分〜２分で即興スピーチを披露します。短い時間で考えをまとめて人前で話す、即興力と度胸が鍛えられます。即興スピーチの司会はOSさん。『傾聴』の練習プロジェクトも兼ねて実施！スピーチを聞いて短めのコメントを出すミッション付き。
「愛」をテーマに繰り出される質問の数々。「あなたの『初恋』を聞かせてください」「失われた愛、痛みを伴った愛の経験は？」「あなたがいかに恋上手かをお聞かせください」「今、首ったけなもの/人とは？」
盛り上がったことこの上なし！笑。こんな昼間に公共の場で恋バナをする機会はそうそうない。みんなの笑顔と、司会者の笑顔がこのセッションの成功を物語っていました。
<Prepared Speech Session/ 準備スピーチ>
① KMさん「That’s why travel is interesting - 旅の醍醐味」
™.KM flew to France and enjoyed the vacation with her husband. They got the reservation and tickets beforehand so as not to make a long line to get into famous museums. Their trip was fulfilling and fun. BUT… they were getting tired… Why?
They did their best and spent so much energy and brain power to spend time very efficiently, maybe like a busy business trip. They changed their mind and decided to enjoy the trip as it happens.
They went on a one-day trip. She wanted to see a beautiful, elegant, gorgeous room of a palace but the tickets were sold out at the ticket booth and they couldn’t enter. Oh…That’s the reality of the non-reservation travel style. She was so shocked.
They walked along the Seine river and found a cruise ship terminal. They got tickets and enjoyed the beautiful sunset of Paris.
You might lose something but you would get something else. That’s why travel is interesting.
KMさんは愛するご主人とフランスに飛び立ちました。ルーブル美術館・オルセー美術館…世界中から観光客が押し寄せる有名美術館や観光地はどこも長蛇の列。現地で過ごせる限られた時間。確実に入るためにオンラインでチケットを入手。次々と目的地をめぐり美しいものを見て感動。先々の予約を取り、無駄なく着実に予定を遂行していきました。
しかしふと疲れに気づきます。スケジュールをこなすことが目的となってはいないだろうか。。。ちょっと、頑張りすぎるのやめよう。。予約取ったり、周到な準備をするのをいったん手放してみよう！焦らない焦らない。なりゆきまかせでいってみよう。
なりゆき旅にきりかえて、パリから離れ、日帰りで別の地へ。とある宮殿を訪れた。豪華絢爛、ゴージャスな部屋を見たい。チケットブースに着き、当日券を頼もうとするも…「完売」!!!!!! なんと！窓にへばりついてみても、見たかった部屋は上層階。チケットなしには見られなかった。なりゆきの現実！無念ーーーッ！
その後歩いていると、セーヌ川のクルーズのターミナルが！ふらりと寄ると、ここでは当日券ゲット！とても美しい夕焼けを船上から見ることができた。
キチキチの予定満載の旅となりゆき旅。失うものあれば得るものもあり。両者、こうした経験こそが面白い！
② MZ さん「Stress in my lifeーストレスの影響と効能」
The 2nd speaker was ™MZ. He is an engineer of a semiconductor production company. His team suffered from terrible damage when their competing company launched an outstandingly good and low cost product.
“I can’t believe it!!!” His boss shouted. ™.MZ was asked to provide his innovative, super new and great idea to conquer the rivals. But he couldn’t. He fell into a negative spiral. He felt all of his ideas were useless like trash. He lost his confidence and felt rejected. Overstress.
One day, his friend advised him to write down his ideas and fears on a paper. It will help him to organize the thoughts. ✖Plan A. ✖Plan B. But if I combine A and B, how about Plan C!?
He got back the light into his world. Clear vision and confidence came back to him.
Don’t fear negative stress. It means you have done your best. If you turn it into good stress, it works and you can motivate yourself and make progress for your brighter future and possibility.
「信じられない！そんなことってあるか！」半導体メーカーでエンジニアとして働くＭＺさん。ライバル会社がとんでもない新製品を出した！自社より安くて高性能！太刀打ちできない大ダメージ！ボス含め、チームはその打撃に言葉を失った。
ライバル社を超える製品の開発が求められた。来る日も来る日も繰り返される社内会議。「君の意見、アイデアは!?」問われるたびに、浮かばないアイデアに苦悩した。プレッシャーが増していく。ダメだ。できない。広がる不安と自信の喪失。アイデアは棄却されどんどん追い詰められていく。自分がゴミのような無能感に押しつぶされそうになる。
そんなとき仲間から言われた。「同じことばっかり考えてると煮詰まるよ！頭にあること、紙に書き出してみるんだよ！きっと整理できるから」半信半疑でやってみた。「プランＡもプランＢもだめ！」そう思い込んで袋小路にはまっていたけれど、それぞれのプランのいいところを合体させたプランＣを思いついた！ん…？悪くない？なんと、うまくいった！
ネガティブなストレスに苛まれることをおそれるべからず。その高度なストレスは自分が一生懸命取り組んだことの証。ストレスがなにかを成し遂げるためのパワーやきっかけになるかは、コインの表裏のようなもの。人生におけるストレス。きっとうまく付き合える。
③ SMさん「What I learned from the Great Hanshin earthquakeー阪神大震災の学び」
The 3rd speaker was ™.SM. Yummy cakes, ice cream and snacks!! He was in a paradise filled with his favorites. He was a kindergarten kid and was sleeping happily.
On January 17, 1995. the Great Hanshin earthquake happened. He lived in Koube, a center city of Hyogo prefecture. It was a nightmare. He couldn’t understand what happened.
His family was safe but their house was half crapped and all infrastructure service stopped.
They spent day and night at the nearest school gym. Thankfully, food and daily necessities were provided but it was hard and uncomfortable to stay there. His family needed to move to reconstruct their living.
2024 started with a big earthquake in Ishikawa prefecture. ™.SM would like to share his preparedness and mindset with the members based on his own experience and wounds, if you want to support people in need.
・Donate money.
・Never forget. Your concern can be a great help and encouragement to someone.
・Cherish your time with your beloved ones. It is not guaranteed to last for good.
He is a survivor. His words were full of love, appreciation and were truly authentic.
ケーキ・アイス・お菓子…大好きなスイーツに囲まれたパラダイス！
「わーい！うれしい！どれから食べよう！」当時、幼稚園に通っていたSMさん。お菓子の国に来たような、そんな幸せな夢を見ていた。
ゴゴゴゴゴ、ガガガガッ!!!!!!!! 何が起こったのかわからない、天地がひっくりかえるような激震で凄惨な現実に目覚めた。1995年1月17日。阪神淡路大震災が起きたのだった。
故郷、神戸。自宅は半壊。全てのインフラが止まった。学校の体育館での寝泊り。食べものや必要なものは届けられたがそれでも厳しい生活だった。引越をしての生活の再建。家族の試練はたしかにあった。
2024年、石川県の震災とともに始まった今年。輪島の被災に心痛めた人もいるだろう。
被災経験者だからこそ伝えたいことがある。
・募金に参加しよう
・被災地・被災者のことを忘れないで。心に留めていてもらえることが大きな励みになる。
・大切な人とのこの時間を慈しんで。永遠を保証されたものではないから。スマホを眺めるよりもっと大切なものが目の前にきっとある。
被災した子どもが今こうして大人になって我々の仲間としている。時を経ても心に残る傷も抱きながら、こんなにも優しさと未来にむけた心の強さをもった人になった半生を見たようで、胸を打たれたスピーチでした。
④ SSさん「Make it today not tomorrowーいつやるか、今日でしょ！」
The 4th speaker was ™.SS.
™,SS was an engineer and was in the UK. He was leaving an electric device company he had worked for a long time. He found a new company to work in already. The construct with Human Resource was almost done.
But the former company president asked him. “We need your help. Production plant is out of control. Please go to Taiwan very soon.” What!!? “I’ll be leaving.” “Have you made a contract already?” “Almost, but not yet.”
™.SS decided in a couple of days to stay and to help the factory/plant. It was a big decision.
He flew to Taiwan and the situation, product quality control was surprisingly awful. ™.SS said to the manager, “If we can’t solve the problems very soon, this plant will lose the contract with our head office and 500 workers here will lose their jobs.”
They worked very hard as a team to overcome drawbacks/weak points. They didn’t have time. The estimated timeframe was 6 months but they did it in 3 months to get the level required!!!! Their efforts paid off.
™.SS was a leader of this project. Based on his experiences, he strongly believes this.

「ものごとにはスピードって大事なんですわ」
さかのぼること〇年前。当時SSさんはイギリスにいた。勤めていた電子機器メーカーもあと数年で退職。新しい仕事先を見つけるべく、転職活動をしていた。
もうほぼ内定確定まちがいなし。新会社の役員面接も終わりかけの段階だった。そんなさなか、突然まもなく去る古巣からのオファーが入る。「台湾のプロジェクトに大至急参戦してくれないか？台湾工場が大変なことになっている!!」退職目前の大抜擢。自身の手腕を見込んでの現地法人社長からの懇願。一方転職先は自分を待ってくれている。さあ、どうしよう！
金曜日のオファー。土日、頭がぐちゃぐちゃになるほど考えた。月曜日、腹をくくって取引先に採用辞退を報告。自社社長に台湾行きを承ると伝えた。
現地工場は酷かった。品質管理がずさんの極み。このままでは本社は生産契約を打ち切りにするだろうと現地工場長に伝えた。500人の工場員が生活に困るはずだと。
現地工場は変わった。「今今プロジェクト (Jin-Jin Project)」と銘打ち、品質向上のために一丸となって最速で改善していった。予定されていた半年を大きく上回るスピードで目標品質に届いた。契約打ち切りはまぬがれた。みんなの努力が実った。
スピードをもって取り組むことの価値。グローバルビジネスの舞台からの経験談は激熱でした。
<Speech Evaluation Session/ 論評スピーチ>
Evaluators deliver their speeches to encourage the prepared speakers by appreciating their efforts and good points. They also give them suggestions to improve their speeches and delivery styles.
総合論評者のリードのもと、各論評者は担当のスピーチのどこが素晴らしかったか、どんな工夫や表現に魅力を感じたか、いい点や各スピーカーの強みを捉えて伝えました。
次に、どのような点に留意し、デリバリーするとよりよいスピーチになるか、改善点を提案しました。

General Evaluator was ™.KW. She gave us powerful, happy and encouraging feedback. She evaluated all evaluators, roletakers and the meeting in general.

Hi, I’m Yukiko.
March 3rd is “Hinamatsuri”, or Doll’s day, the day of celebrating girls’ growth and happiness in Japan. Grownup girls, ladies love that day. The motif is peach tree. Its blossoms are pretty light pink, which brightens up our mind.
There are a lot of delicious and cute dishes and sweets for spring. Enjoy making and/or having it!! They will enrich your mind and bring a new season to your life like a Toastmasters meeting!!! Lol!!

３月３日はひなまつり。桃の節句とも呼ばれます。女の子の成長と幸せを願う日。小さい子だけではなく、大人になった女性にとってもなんだかちょっと嬉しい日！
ひなあられや、菱餅、桜餅…優しい色や味のお菓子。ごはんにはちらし寿司もおすすめです☆彡今回私は、「手毬寿司（写真右下）」というものに挑戦する予定♪♪ 小さな舎利に海鮮のトッピングをのせて球状に。いろんなネタを使ったカラフルで、まんまるなかわいいお寿司です。上手にできるかな！
桜あんを使って和スイーツを作ったり、苺大福も食べたい！食卓から春の訪れを喜びたい気持ちでいっぱいです。笑笑。さあ、みなさんもご一緒に！目で見て楽しく食べて美味しい食べものは、心にも幸せと新しい季節を運んでくれるはず。
次回の例会で、またみなさんに笑顔でお会いできるのを楽しみにしています☆彡
