English Speech Meeting Report
Today's meeting was held with 30 members including guests! The venue was so packed, the meeting was too excited to appear the person who could not speak including the fixed roll + table topics. To our members and guests, thank you very much for coming!
The meeting was started with President A’s chair, and today's theme is "Just do it!". We talked about each member's challenge. Since our club has many active members, it seems that they are challenging a lot!!
At the Joke/Tips Session, O talked about on the subject "How many words do adult native speakers know the English words?" According to his information, the number of vocabularies in a typical Japanese is about 8,500 words, this seems to be equivalent to a 6-year-old native child. Veteran ToastMaster O is studying eagerly all the time. For instance, He raised the English word which questioned in Eiken grade-1 on "word of the day"!
Next, Table Topics session was held by Se’s chair.
"Are you going to take action immediately? Or are you planning with a precise plan?" , ”Have you ever been ashamed of getting out of the comfort zone?".
Next, Prepared speech session was held. N, the first speaker, made a speech debut with the stories which he was impressed, such as presentation in YouTube, the story of a historical great person! It seems that Benjamin Franklin was involved in the United States Declaration of Independence at the age of 81. Age does not matter to challenge new things!
The second person, G, talked about the type of Buddha statue and the episode related to it. Because G is also engraved with Buddha statues as a hobby, many members were listened to carefully (the word "Okuno-te" is derived from Senju Kannon).
Si, the third person, told us about the real experiences of the Russian World Cup. Thank you for sharing the valuable experience!
The fourth speaker, Te declared his resolution at the VPE (Vice President Education), which is his role of this term. We are looking forward to doing his unique idea referring to the past VPE.
M, I, Ki, Ta, Ka commented on the Evaluation session.
After the meeting, the cruising party was held by VPM F's idea! We enjoyed precious after-5 time♪
The venue of the Minato Mirai club has close access to MM 21 district, sightseeing spots in Yokohama, such as landmark tower and Nogi area, so it is our club’s strong point!
Postscript: Today I received many suggestions from veteran Toastmaster. For example, "Since this project’s focal point is the importance of body language, it would be better to use gestures more effectively" and "Visual Aid is used only as a supplement. Please emphasize the words. "and so on.
With fun and sincerity, we are operating the meeting!
