英語スピーチのツボを突け！第279回例会レポート！！

 例会レポートです！本日も通常ロール+テーブルトピックスで運営です(ロールの機会をご提供出来なかったメンバーの皆様、申し訳ありません…)。

本日のテーマは、「Never stop smiling」TMODのStさんがイラスト付きで説明くださいました。

Joke&TipsセッションでEmotional Intelligence (EQ)と言うまさに今日のテーマにぴったりのお話をして頂いたMzさん。人間の感情は27種類もあるそうです。

TableTopicsSessionでお話頂いた方々。TableTopicsMasterのYdさん(写真中央)の「トーストマスターズクラブでの失敗談は？」「来年にみなとみらいトーストマスターズクラブで達成したい事は何？」と言った質問を上手く纏めていきます。

続いてプリペアードスピーチセッションです。

1人目のOgさん。「トーストマスターズを辞めても大丈夫！」と言うスピーチでした。Ogさんは、別のクラブに参加されてから、みなとみらいトーストマスターズクラブに参加された方です。Ogさんならではのスピーチでした。

我々は社会人が大半ですので、仕事や家庭の都合で参加が難しい時がどうしても出てしまいます。ですので、ゲストの方もご無沙汰の方もメンバー一同ご参加をお待ちしております！


2人目のGtさん。ご自身が生の現場で遭遇された911テロ事件の貴重なご経験をお話いただきました。

平和を祈る心は全世界普遍的な価値です。改めて、余暇も楽しめる平和な環境に感謝です。


3人目のTrさん。タイトルは「Meaningful bugger」。学生時代の困った友人と関係を築くまでのストーリーをユーモア交えてお話いただきました。タイトルのbuggerについては、、、お調べください笑。

4人目、presidentのAsさん
名作漫画「北斗の拳」の名言から引用のスピーチです。冒頭に、同漫画の必殺技を披露頂くパフォーマンスで、メンバーを「掴んで」行きました。プレジデントご自身もとてもスピーチを楽しまれていたようで、本日１番の笑いが起きた一幕でした。

総合論評者を勤めてくださったSbさん。全ロールに気を配ってコメント頂きました。

English Speech Meeting Report

It is a regular meeting report! Today, we operated with regular rolls + table topics (members who was unable to offer the opportunity to roll, sorry ...). Today's theme was "Never stop smiling". St, TMOD explained with her illustration.

Mz who talked about “Emotional Intelligence (EQ)” truely suitable for today's theme at the Joke & Tips session. There seem to be 27 kinds of human emotions. 


At the TableTopics session, Yd, TableTopicsMaster asked, "What is your mistake in the Toastmasters club?" "What will you want to achieve in Minato Mirai Club next year? “All members asked successfully.

Next, prepared speech session was held.


First speaker Og. Her speech title was "It is OK to quit Toastmasters!" She became a Minato Mirai Toastmasters Club member after joined another club.

As most of us are company employees, sometimes it is difficult to attend. So, we are always waiting for your participation including the guests and members!
The second person Gt. He talked about the valuable experience of the 911 terrorist incident that he was encountered at the live scene.
The heart to pray for peace is a worldwide universal value. I appreciate the peaceful circumstance where we can enjoy leisure time.

The third person Tr. The speech title was "Meaningful bugger". He talked about a school days story with humor. He managed to build a relationship with a troublesome friend. Regarding the title Bugger, please check.
As, our president was the 4th speaker.

His speech title was a quote from a masterpiece of cartoon "Hokuto no Ken". The president himself seemed to have enjoyed a lot, it was a scene where the enormous laugh occurred today.Then the evaluation session was held. Everyone who gave a lot of informative comments! 

《Postscript》Five months have past since I took off as VPPR and it is a turning point at a little more. The duty of VPPR is to convey the charm of the club through the website. Please tell me if you looked it! It becomes a motivation!!

名英語スピーカーへの登竜門？第278回例会レポート！

本日の例会レポートです。本日は、ルーキーコンテストのクラブ内予選会の日です。参加資格は入会から１年半か、CCマニュアル(入会して最初に取り組むスピーチマニュアル)の進捗度がproject6未満かどうかです。

ルーキーコンテストとは言えど、トーストマスターズ本部にて定められているルールに厳密に従って執り行います。

いくつか例を挙げますと、「誰かの言葉を引用する時は、必ず引用元を記載する事」と言ったものや、「審査員は匿名とし、ジャッジペーパーに公平に記載する事」と言ったものです。こうして、公平性が担保される訳ですね。数字はシビアなものですが、その分コンテスタントも納得感が有ります。

一人目のNKさん。スピーチタイトルは「take a chance」。突如、同時通訳を勤める事になったNkさんが単調な会議をどのように成功に導いたかと言う英語スピーチです。

単調にスクリプトを読み上げる司会者のエピソードが印象的でした。通常の例会では、「なるべくスクリプトから目を離しましょう」とアドバイスいただきます。これはスクリプトを読んでいるだけだと、表現まで注意が向かわないためです。しっかりとクラブでのご経験を活かされていらっしゃいます。

二人目のNjさん。

タイトルは「Salvaging the joy」。幼少期から好きだった美術への想いと、成長するにつれて芽生えた葛藤、そしてSNSに自らの作品を公開する事で画を描くことと和解したと言う英語スピーチです。

内面の心の動きをつぶさに観察したNjさんらしいスピーチでした。前回の例会に引き続き2週連続のご登壇お疲れ様でした！

3人目のKrさん。

「Don’t need a teacher」と言うタイトルのスピーチです。
英語を独学で勉強していた時から、みなとみらいトーストマスターズクラブに入会するに至るまでに得た結論をお話されました。

休憩を挟んで、第一位の発表が有りました。本日の優勝者は、Nkさんです！初参加の6月から熱心に参加されての受賞、おめでとうございました。

続いて参加者一人一人への論評セッションです。自由発言方式で沢山のフィードバックを頂きました。「冠詞が入っていない」と言った初歩的なものから、「クライマックスにピークを持って行くと良い」「タイトルの付け方はもっとシンボリックなものにすると良い」と言ったテクニカルな部分までです。

Nkさんがみなとみらいトーストマスターズクラブを代表して、12月1日に行われる予選大会に出場されます。フィードバックを経て、更に磨きをかけて臨んでくださいね！

《あとがき》
本日は、通常例会と異なりプリペアード・スピーチの後に「play speech game」というワークショップが行われました。前の人の話した内容に続く文章を考え、10人で1つの即興ストーリーを創る、と言うものです。

好きな女の子を追いかけていたら、山の中に迷い込み、危険な人物に取り囲まれてしまい、、、という名(迷?)作が出来上がり大盛り上がりでした。

English Speech Meeting Report

It is the last meeting’s report. Today we held a in-house rookie contest. Participation qualification is that their participations are within one and a half years or the progress of the CC manual is less than project 6.

Although it is a rookie contest, we strictly followed the rules stipulated by Toastmasters headquarters.

For instance: "When quoting someone's words, be sure to list the quotation source",or"Judges should be anonymous and write fairly in the judge paper". In this way, fairness is guaranteed. Although to be evaluated with digital is severe, the contestants have a sense of satisfaction for that.

The first one, NK. The speech title was "take a chance". It is a story about how Nk, who suddenly was assigned as a simultaneous interpreter, led a meeting to a success.

The episode of the moderator who monotonously reads the script was impressive. At regular meetings, we are advised to take your eyes off the script as much as possible. This is because if speakers are only reading a script, attention toward delivery is not done. He makes good use of club experience.

Nj's second person.

The title was "Salvaging the joy". She talked about the story that she reconciled with art that she has loved since childhood. As she grew, she struggled with conflict, and finally salvaged the joy from drawing through displaying work on SNS.

It was a speech that seemed to be Nj who took a close look at the movement of the inner mind. We appreciate a work for two times in a row!

The third person Kr.

Speech title was "Do not need a teacher".

He talked about the conclusion he got from joining Toastmasters Club after He was studying English by himself.

The first-place announcement after the break was announced. Today's winner was Nk! Congratulations, He has continued to participate in the meeting enthusiastically since this June.

Next, there was an evaluation session for all participants. Contestants got a lot of feedback from members. From the rudimentary one that said, "there is no article", it is up to the technical part which said, "It is good to go with the peak to climax," "It is better to put the title in a more symbolic way".

Postscript: Today,  different from regular meeting a workshop named "play speech game" was held. Think of sentences that follow the content of the previous person, and ten people create one improvisation story.

When person was chasing a girl he loved, got lost in the mountains and was surrounded by a dangerous person, ... It was a great excitement. Work was completed.

Trick or 英語スピーチ？豊作揃いの第277回例会レポート！

例会レポートです！

本日はハロウィーン間近！と言うことで仮装して臨んだ例会です！差し入れのおやつも沢山頂きましてありがとうございます！！

冒頭、TMODのFjさんから、ハロウィーンの起源のお話がありました。ハロウィーンはアイルランド、スコットランド近辺で大昔のケルト民族が行ったものですが、目的は２つあるそうです。

ひとつ目は秋の最終日(ケルト人の暦上は年の終わり)である10月31日に収穫祭が行われ、かがり火をたき、そこへ穀物や生け贄を捧げるためです。
ふたつ目は、この時期は家族の元に死者の霊だけでなく、悪霊や魔女なども訪れると言われていたので仮装して魔除けとするためだそうです。


みなとみらいトーストマスターズクラブが誇る看板女優のお二人。ノリノリになると止まりません笑。
本日のJoke & TipsをされたMtさん(写真右)は、ディズニーに王子コスプレの集団で行った時のお話を躍動感たっぷりにお話し頂きました。

続きまして、本日のプリペアード・スピーチセッションです。

1人目のkrさん
小さい頃、お風呂に入るのが苦手だった彼女が、汚いままだと洗いに来るおばけがいると聞きお風呂に入るようになったと言う可愛らしいエピソードでした。
日本で言うところの「あかなめ」でしょうか。ロシアの文化のお話もとっても興味深いです。


2人目のNkさん。人前で話す事が苦手だった彼女がワークショップをどう成功に導いたのか？と言うお話をして頂きました。次回のワークショップでどんな進化を見せてくれるのか、今から楽しみです。

3人目のDiさん。本日のスピーチプロジェクトが「Research Your Topics」と言うことで、世界のレストランのお話をして頂きました。世界一古いレストランから、世界一広いレストランまで、、、。帽子もとっても似合っています！

4人目のAdさん。幼少期から得意だった美術での挫折と再開してからの発見について。これが2回目のスピーチとは思えないほどの内容で、メンバー一同多くの感銘を受けたようです。

English Speech Meeting Report

It is a regular meeting report!

Halloween is approaching!  So, we eagerly costumed each other!! And thank you very much for all the snacks served!!

In the beginning, Ms Fj, TMOD talked about the origin of Halloween. Halloween was done by ancient Celtic folk near Ireland and Scotland, two purposes of Halloween were as follows.

The first purpose was the harvest festival that was held on the last day of autumn (the end of the year on the Celtic calendar), the bonfire was woken, the grain and the sacrifice were dedicated there.

The second one seems to be because it was said that not only the spirit of the dead but also evil spirits and witches visit the house during this period, so they were disguised as an amulet.

At “Joke & Tips Session, Ms Mt who took a role talked about a Halloween story with a lively dynamism when she went to Disney Land as a group of prince cosplay.

Then prepared speech session was held.

First Ms kr spoke. When she was a child, she hated to take the bath, but after hearing that there was a ghost to come to wash if she was dirty, she started bathing. So cute episode!

Is may equivalent to "Akaname" in Japan? The story of Russian culture is also very interesting.

The second person Ms Nk talked about her achievement in the workshop. She explained how she managed to conduct the workshop successfully although he was not good at speaking in public. We are looking forward to seeing what evolution will be shown at the next workshop.

The third person was Ms Di. Today 's her speech project was "Research Your Topics”. She talked about restaurants in the world. Starting from the world's oldest restaurant to the world's largest restaurant. Her research ability was enormous!

Ad of the 4th person talked about frustration in the art that she was good at when she was a child. She also talked about her discovery after resuming. Though this seems to be a second speech but  many members were impressed by the contents.
